Frequently Asked Questions
What is an LMFT?
A Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is a mental health professional trained as a psychotherapist to diagnose and treat individuals, couples, and families experiencing relational issues, personal challenges, and mental health concerns. LMFTs consider how relationships, family dynamics, and life experiences influence an individual’s emotional well-being. Despite the title, you don’t need to be married or experiencing family problems to benefit from working with an LMFT.
How long will I need to be in therapy?
The length of therapy varies from person to person depending on their individual circumstances and goals. Therapy can be short-term or long-term, depending on your needs.
How does telehealth work?
Telehealth allows you to attend therapy sessions remotely through a secure video platform. Before your appointment, you’ll receive a link to join your session from your computer, tablet, or smartphone. All you need is a reliable internet connection and a private, comfortable space where you can speak freely.
